General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc have sent messages on Monday congratulating Mr. Joe Biden on his election as the 46th President of the United States.
In the congratulatory message, General Secretary, State President Nguyen Phu Trong, and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc expressed their belief in the solid foundation of the two countries' bilateral relations.
After 25 years of establishing diplomatic relations, the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Partnership will continue to grow deeply, effectively, and sustainably, contributing to the benefits of the two peoples, as well as peace, security, stability, cooperation, and development in the regional and global scale, said the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Vietnamese leaders took this opportunity to invite the US President and Vice President-elect to visit Vietnam in the nearest future.

Vietnam's Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh also congratulated US Vice President-elected Kamala Harris.
Democratic candidate Joe Biden is determined by the US media to win the 2020 Presidential Election with 306 electoral votes and becomes the President-elect of the United States. He is expected to take the office on January 20. Ms. Harris will be the first woman, the first woman of color, and the first woman of Asian origin to become a Vice President of the United States.

Over the past 25 years, Vietnam - US trade turnover increased from 450 million USD in 1994 to 77 billion USD in 2019. For many years, the US has been Vietnam's largest export market, and Vietnam is one of the US export markets with highest growth.
Vietnam and the US also strengthen and expand their Comprehensive Partnership on the basis of a shared vision of a stable and peaceful Indo-Pacific region, as well as the respect for independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and political institutions of each other.
